The State Board of Technical Education (SBTE) is a government body that is responsible for the regulation and development of technical education in a particular state. The SBTE sets curriculum conducts examinations and provides accreditation for polytechnic colleges in the state. It also provides recognition to the diploma courses offered by the polytechnic colleges. The SBTE also conducts the annual examination of diploma courses and issues diploma certificates to successful students. SBTE is different for each state, for example in Bihar, it is known as Bihar State Board of Technical Education (BSBTE).
